About

What we do

Diversity On Ice provides skating resources to young kids from underprivileged groups in order to offset the exorbitant costs associated with skating. We offer sessions to learn skating technique from experienced skaters so that kids met with financial burden can still embrace the life-changing experiences of the sport. Advice geared specifically toward skaters—ranging from nutrition, injury prevention, and instruction—all create a substantial foundation for budding skaters.

Our instructors

Our instructors make up a talented team of skaters, all having many years of competitive experience. We have been trained at the hands of world class professionals, some making their way as nationally-ranked skaters, and others passing the highest level skating tests possible. Through our extensive training, we have personally learned the ins-and-outs of the sport to continually progress while staying injury-free. Our goal is to pass on all we know to our youngsters.

our why

Skating has been a significant part of our lives. We have spent years—even decades—dedicated to the sport. We have both experienced and witnessed the financial burden imposed on ourselves and others. The costs of ice time, skates, gear, coaches, and more creates an air of exclusivity to the sport, favoring higher socioeconomic classes. Knowing that there are a vast amount of children in the world that would excel in skating if only given a chance, we founded Diversity On Ice to eliminate barriers to the sport to watch young talent blossom into passionate figure skaters and hockey players.
